Let Me Tell You About My Sister

*FYI, This is a day late.

I would like to dedicate this post to my BEAUTIFUL SISTER who’s celebrating her birthday today!

Happy Birthday! 🙂

Some old pictures are in order.

She was probably 2 yrs. old here

I remember, we used to have matching clothes. Terno kami lagi!

See how I was holding your hand here? Always remember that no matter how old we get, I will always be willing to guide and support you. My hands are always available to hold yours.

And here’s a trivia: She used to hate having her pictures taken that’s why her photos would always come out like these…

I don’t really know when she overcame her ‘fear of cameras’ but once she got over that phase, here’s the result…

See, why hide a beautiful face like that? 🙂

Seriously, I just want to thank her for being the responsible person she is. I can’t tell you how much she has matured since I left for abroad. She’s now the bridge that connects us all specially during tough times. SHE IS OUR ROCK — so selfless that she’s willing to sacrifice her own dreams just to keep the family together.

And because of all the responsibilities left with her, I think she developed her mother instinct too early. So now, I officially surrender to the fact that Gab loves her more than everyone else in the family. hehehe

Gab’s gift for her birthday.

Looking back when we were younger, Che and I would always fight about petty things. I still vividly remember those countless times when I would bully her days on end merely because she was ‘one ultimate pikon. Then the more she cried, the more I teased her. You know, childish stuff and all.

And now, thinking about it, I feel really guilty. I could have been a better sister (not just to her but to my other siblings as well). Being the eldest, I should have been nicer to her instead of making her cry every chance I get. I should have listened to her like a friend and maximized our time together when I was still in the Philippines.

Fortunately, we still have more opportunities to catch-up. We may not be the best of friends today, but with little steps, we’re getting there. Lately, we started talking more often, showing our appreciation, and are now more sensitive of each other’s needs & feelings.

I know I’ve taken her for granted for a long time. And it’s high time to make it up to her!

I have a thousand more words to say to her but this post is getting too long already.

So to you my dear sister, I want you to know that you are appreciated and loved. I wish you all the best in life and may all your dreams come true!

Again, happy happy birthday.

I love you!

And I’ll always be proud of you! 🙂
