In February this year, we finally pushed through our long overdue Desert Safari Adventure c/o the vouchers we purchased from Groupon. The original plan was only for 6 people but our entourage grew to 20! So imagine the riot! Lol
However, since the trip happened waaaaay back in Feb, I don’t remember the details anymore so I’ll leave you with a photoblog instead. Enjoy! 🙂
Soon as we reached the location, a couple of 4×4’s picked us up for a heart-pounding session of Dune Bashing! A good way to kick start our afternoon of sand, desert, and fun!
Here’s our video. Poor Raine was giggling at first but she got scared later on because of all the screaming! hehe
Before our group parted ways to try the different activities available, we had an obligatory ‘family picture’ first 🙂
Then off we went craaaaaaaaaaaaazy!!!!!!!!
While queueing for the camel ride, we met a lovely Korean lady who was on her own so we asked her to join our already huge group!
This next picture made it to my IKEA Wall.
And now the long-awaited camel ride 🙂
I feel sorry for the camels though. Imagine how many people they have to carry on their backs every single day. I just hope they are well taken cared of by their owners.
Having the camel sit or stand is an adventure on its own! Just take a look at our hilarious faces below! Lol!
Here’s our desert race video: A.Must.Watch!
There were also ATV’s available for rent. If I remember correctly, for AED 100.
Then it was dinner time! Inside the camp were various activities like henna painting, picture taking with traditional Arabic costumes, puppet show, shisha, and belly dancing.
After dinner, we were assigned to several 4×4’s which will drop us to the buses that will then take us back to the city. Thanks to the accommodating driver who gave in to our request for another round of dune bashing. Dangerously fun I know! hehe.
All in all, we enjoyed our first Dubai Desert Safari adventure specially because we spent the day with friends and family! 🙂
Cheers to good times!
