Why I’m grateful?
Last Monday, we were invited by Rea to visit her boss’ Palm Jumeirah villa. Since we were already in RAK when the invitation was confirmed, we advised them that we will just head there directly in the afternoon. I was actually unsure if we still wanted to push thru as we were already tired of all the swimming and long drive.
But hey, it’s been my long dream to see the Palm up close so why waste the opportunity right?
So at 5 pm, off we packed our bags and drove to Palm Jumeirah. Buds and company were already there enjoying the pool.
We were lucky because by the time we arrived, dinner was already prepared. We had grilled rib-eye steak, marinated chicken, pansit and some snacks like pistachios, ripe mangoes, watermelon, ice cream, chips, etc.
After some time, I headed to the beach to stare, be mesmerized, and take pictures of the amazing view in front of me. I tell you, the millions of dirhams the owners paid for their villas are totally worth it! Imagine waking up to this everyday!
Then we took more pictures…

I’m not sure which frond was behind us. As far as I counted, there are more than 130 villas in each frond

Sadly, the beach was not too enjoyable to swim at. There were a lot of moss and rocks. Also, it gets a lot deeper in every step. scary!
The others left by 7 pm but we decided to stay as it was still early anyway. While in the pool, we enjoyed a bottle of wine under a clear night sky. An epic way to end a superb fun day!
I’m more than thankful to Rea and her boss for inviting us. For a day, we experienced a taste of Dubai’s luxurious lifestyle. Though we might not be able to see these villas this close again, I’m grateful because the memories are more than enough to remind me that once in my life, I have been a resident visitor of this lovely place called Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. 🙂
